About Us
Our Story
Origin: Badwater Alchemy’s scientific process was developed by William Walker, Ph.D., a geochemist with 40 years of experience in water science. Before launching the company, Bill worked on more than 300 mining projects, understanding how minerals interact with each other under different circumstances. Through that process, he discovered that nano materials could filter different elements in water, and wanted to know how.
Over the next 10 years, Badwater Alchemy Holdings LLC was formed as a startup green-tech firm, operating out of a non-descript lab in Seattle’s industrial district. BWA’s scientific process has been tested and perfected over the past decade, receiving several US patents, and multiple provisional patents. Results have been validated by US EPA certified labs, and peer reviewed and published in WATER, a leading scientific journal.
Expansion: In 2022, the firm began expanding, conducting multiple trials to test refinements for brine water, brackish water, and potable water. It also expanded the leadership team and geographic presence. In 2024, BWA welcomed Geoff Deane, Ph.D., as its new CEO, followed by Ozgur Yildirim, Ph.D., as Vice President of Engineering, and Raj Ghimire, Ph.D., as Director of Business Development, based in Texas. The company also expanded beyond Seattle, to include a presence in the greater Dallas area, in support of the oil and gas industry.
